Senior Technologist - Project Leader - Functional Coatings Applications - Liquid Inks - NPD - South East London / Kent borders - Permanent - £30-35K + Excellent Benefits

We are currently seeking a talented Senior Technologist to act as a Project Leader within the Functional Coatings Applications department of an International Specialist Chemical company. As a leading producer of printing inks and pigments and a leading provider of materials to packaging, publication, coatings, plastics, cosmetics and other industrial markets this represents a fantastic opportunity for an individual with previous coatings or liquid Inks expertise.

Key Activities

· Responsible for the successful delivery of applications projects for existing product lines/ customers and new business development.
· Design, plan and execute experiments to meet project deliverables using Design for Six Sigma and statistical tools.
· Development of new functional coating products to enhance the Company's portfolio and address customer needs.
· Organise and attend trials to ensure successful product qualification and communication of results both internally and externally.
· Development of specifications and SOP's and the audit of QC tests to ensure quality and consistency of supply.
· Support the identification of customer needs and respond with new value propositions and ideas that have significant business potential.

To be considered for this opportunity you will require:

· A degree level qualification in Chemistry.
· Several years' previous experience with liquid inks/coatings (solvent and waterborne) and application testing.
· Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Sound practical knowledge of SAP or similar system in a technical role.
· DfSS trained to green belt standard an advantage.

Salary and Benefits :

· Salary - £30-35K

· Group personal pension with up to 6% company contribution

· 25 days annual holiday plus bank holidays 37.5 hour week with flexitime arrangement.
