Institutional Banking and Markets provides relationship management and product capability for the Bank's major corporate, government and institutional clients. IBM offers Total Capital Solutions to our clients, ranging from core transactional banking to debt, equity and financial markets risk management products and services.

Transaction Banking Solutions (TBS) is a specialised sales unit within IBM. Our offering delivers a robust platform for cross-selling the full suite of Institutional and Global Markets product within IBM's Total Capital solutions architecture
We provide Transaction Banking expertise to Australia's leading Corporates, delivering advice and guidance to enable clients to optimise their working capital. We are underpinned by innovative technology, industry specialisation, and a premium customer service model.
Key responsibilities include :
Assist in the acquisition of Transaction Banking business via the preparation of tenders/requests for proposals and expressions of interest. There are four central aspects to the role:
- Developing and implementing effective proposal strategies with the Deal Lead
- Keeping colleagues up-to-date on proposal trends and approaches
- Bringing innovation and new ideas to proposals which can be actioned
- Advising and educating the IBM Transaction Banking team on best practice for successful outcomes
There is an underlying requirement for a high level of expertise in the preparation of proposals and tender submissions
More specific responsibilities include:
- Project managing the TBS Tender Process
- Delivering governance and control by adhering to the tender process and meeting all milestones in a timely fashion
- Maintaining and contributing to the Tender Guideline Manual: How to Guide
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of sales methodology
- Key co-ordinator for external deals feeds into the business e.g. Reed Information Services
- Managing monthly reporting from win/loss/shortlisted/cycle time/ open tenders and average weighting period/ won by product and competitor, trending for won and shortlisted year on year/ product split/ new business '11 broken into "new" and "existing"
- Maintaining the Tender Database and Pipeline (actual/opportunity/from tender historical database
- Building and maintaining the Tender Library/contributing to new content from best practice examples, case studies, tombstones and key quotes from customers
- Coordinator for pitch presentations upon being shortlisted
- Responsible for collating customer feedback so that the business can understand areas of success and areas in need of improvement
- Ongoing management of Personal Development Plan.
- Completion of all necessary Learning compliance training modules.
Key Competencies include :
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in proposal management and planning, writing, reviewing and delivery in a professional environment
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent inter-personal skills and proven ability to build strong internal relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Strong research and investigative skills
- Execution focused with a strong attention for detail
- Superior communication, writing and interpersonal skills
