Responsibilities
- Conceptualizes and Architects test strategies and test fixture designs. Develops and manages test fixture fabrication internally or with external suppliers for end of line test equipment including test fixtures or test beds used during the prototype development and debug process.
- Develops and maintains project schedules, performs risk analysis, writes and executes project plans, technical direction to team resources, clear and concise communication to management.
- Works closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and the customer’s specifications to define and implement functional and quality related test parameters for the product.
- Understands how to manage production databases to ensure proper documentation is available when requested by customer or field.
- Proactively provides feedback to the NPI team when documentation and specifications are not clear, contributes to the DFM analysis of the product.
- Leads the NPI manufacturing support activity relating to test software maturity and hardware test design.
- Ability to compile, evaluate and prepare technical analysis of production test data.
Skills/Abilities
- Experience in development of automated functional test processes, hardware and software.
- Strong working knowledge of general manufacturing engineering practices, component reliability and design for manufacturability (DFM) tradeoffs.
- High knowledge of quality control measures as applied to high volume commercial product manufacturing.
- Extensive experience in in-circuit test (ICT) development.
- Extensive experience in troubleshooting and programming is required.
- Proficiency using LabVIEW as a software development tool is required.
- Practices a methodical, detail oriented, and thorough approach to problem solving.
- Experience with various communication protocols is desirable.
- Project Lead experience: Ability to conceptualize a test strategy or test fixture design.
Education/Experience
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10+ years test engineering experience in new product development or a sustaining engineering role.
- Must have experience developing test fixtures as well as experience writing LabView software.
- Travel
- Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Estimated travel is 10%.
