Senior Trader- Commodity Derivatives recruitment

 MAIN JOB FUNCTION:

• The trading of derivatives crude oil, products, natural gas and power.

• Keeping a constant up to date knowledge of the oil market and natural gas at large

• Managing price risk exposure and contract negotiations

• Managing a team of Junior Traders and Traders

• To identify and develop new business opportunities within the market arena.

• To provide management with input, for the consideration of new marketing strategies;

• Trading across different commodity classes.

• Developing and maintaining relationships with oil trading houses and other counterparties

• Liaising closely with logistics and risk groups

• Developing new business

• Ensuring appropriate hedging and risk management is carried out

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS:

• Strong academic credentials with a Math/Statistics oriented specialization a plus (degree from a leading university, PhD, MS  a plus, in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Econometrics, Finance or Computer Science)

• Knowledge of and experience in derivatives trading. Knowledge of trading options, futures, swaps and even forex will be ideal. Quantitative and analytical understanding of volatility arbitrage strategy and how it impacts the business model of a Company.

• Knowledge of a wide range of oil oil products trading instruments. Strong analytical experience, specifically use of trading-specific systems and IT tools.

• Experience real-time and low latency systems. Analysis and modelling of data. Formally evaluating, back testing trading strategies and model optimisation.

• Experience with development of one or more of the medium/high frequency statistical arbitrage trading strategies (e.g. mean reversion, analyst revisions, volume momentum, pairs, etc.).

• Knowledge of management techniques for non-market related risks such as credit, liquidity and operational.

• Knowledge of typical risk management methodologies e.g. VaR and stress testing analysis.
