Description: RESPONSIBILITIES
• Senior trader for derivative products including rates, currency, equity, US Treasury and repo funding transactions
• Ensure that trades are booked and valuation and risk information flows to all downstream systems/reporting
• Adhere to limits and policies
• Maintain frequent contact with dealers and other information sources to understand flows/likely going flows and their implications for markets
• Track market conditions for alternative trades that meet business needs and identify best trade at any point in time
• Perform ongoing economic optimization of portfolio, considering transaction cost, accounting, capital, cash and collateral constraints
• Develop opinions on market direction based on analysis of supply and demand and other factors impacting markets
• Collaborate with Risk Management and Portfolio Management to understand multiple dimensions of business challenge, goals and constraints to shape recommendations
• Bring insights gained from dialogues with external parties to the larger Derivatives group, Investments group and other parts of the organization as appropriate
• Develop and communicate vision on how changes in market practice and participants could impact how Genworth employs alternative tools over the long run
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 7+ years of experience in relevant products on buy- or sell side
• Extensive experience with liquid fixed income, foreign exchange, and equity index markets
• Strong understanding of derivatives environment including dealers and exchanges, products, end users and their motivations, regulation, accounting, operations, and governance
• Strong knowledge of liquid fixed income, foreign exchange and equity index derivative and relevant "cash" products
• Excellent analytical skills
• Thorough understanding of financial theory and derivative math
• Ability to manage up, down and across in a team-oriented environment
• Excellent communications skills
• High energy
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in "real money" investing, especially life insurance company investing
• Extensive knowledge of option modeling and trading
• Horizon economic return analysis
