Senior Traders – Crude Oil – London and Houston
ORGANISATION:
Global commodities trading house are looking for 2 Senior Crude Oil Traders to join the London and Houston office.
MAIN JOB FUNCTION:
Trading of physical and financial Crude Oil (via forward markets, OTC and/or organised markets)
Ensuring continuous price discovery and keeping a constant up to date knowledge of the Crude Oil market at large
Maintain contacts (build network) with other industry participants including traders and brokers.
Managing a team of Junior Traders and Traders and managing / overseeing the relevant books (within the risk limits)
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Developing an active Crude Oil trading presence leveraging on current Crude Oil portfolio and/or proprietary positions
Generating positive P/L based on proprietary Crude Oil and related commodities positions (within a dedicated risk capital)
Liaising with the Oil division to support and execute hedging strategies and liaising closely with other trading desks
Developing and maintaining relationships with Crude Oil trading houses and other counterparties
Providing management with input, for the consideration of new marketing strategies; to present a personal view and contribute to the decision making process.
Mentoring, coaching and having the ability to train junior traders
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS:
More than 5 years experience in Crude Oil trading in the relevant markets (utility or bank)
Master degree in economics, engineering, statistics with focus on quantitative methods (PhD is a plus)
Knowledge of typical risk management methodologies e.g. VaR and stress testing analysis.
A detailed understanding of the fundamental drivers of the Crude Oil markets.
Experience of leading the development implementation of trading strategies and tactics with accountability for delivery against annual profit target.
Result oriented approach and proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
