Role Responsibilities
The Transition Programme Manager will be required to direct the delivery of very large complex or high profile transition and change programmes, ensuring that they conform to client and NHS Shared Business Services specifications for time cost, quality and revenue and serve their wider business objectives. You will be the main liaison with the Programme board and responsible for Steering Group Members and the NHS SBS Project Teams
Key responsibilities include:
· Providing the Board with the information necessary for them to fulfil their role by providing them with highlight reports, risks, issues, threats, opportunities and blockers to progress and overall programme budget. Gain agreement on action and ensure the actions are completed.
· Overall day to day management of programme activities for resources assigned to the programme
· Overall responsibility for the programme budget
· Managing planning and coordinating team and programme board meetings (both internal and customer)
· To work with the communications and HR streams to effect a communication programme which will promote understanding, ownership and acceptance of the programme from inception through to completion with SBS and PCT and performer staff
· Line management of the Business Change Lead, Workstream Project Manager and Programme Support Officer
· Ensure appropriate programme procedures are established for risk and issues management, change control and configuration management
· Manage the investigation, documentation, sign off and implementation of any change controls which need to be raised during the transition project period
· Ensure that any learning gleaned from client and project review is fed back into the development of processes, procedures staff training etc to ensure on-going improvements to process and capability
Essential Skill Set:
· MSP or Prince 2 Practitioner Certified
· ITIL Service Management Certification
· Considerable recent and relevant experience of project/ portfolio management with a track record of delivering to required standards
· Experience of working across multiple sectors and business models
· Proven experience in transformation, transition and change programme management
Desirable Skills Set
· Any experience in the healthcare or NHS
· Experience of transition and change management for an Outsourcing Organisation or Business Service Provider
· Knowledge of the LEAN business improvement process
