Job Description
our client is a leading developer of integrated research information management systems and its flagship product is used by thousands of researchers based in research institutions across the globe. We’re now looking for a talented UI Developer to work on their next generation product.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced UI developer of enterprise-level applications and be motivated to design and implement attractive web interfaces that both excite and safeguard the user experience. Like all of our clients developers, you will be expected to champion good coding practices and apply design principles to your work. You will work best in cross-functional teams and will be excited by the challenge of working within a leading software house operating in a competitive industry.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with other senior developers, product managers, system architects and the QA team to deliver optimal designs and software that meets or exceeds expectations.
- Contribute to the design direction of our product set.
- Contribute positively to the overall team dynamic; participate in stand-up meetings, planning and design sessions and other business-development working.
Skills Requirements
You will have significant commercial experience in the following:
- Elegantly implementing page designs in standards-compliant HTML and CSS;
- Designing and implementing functionality using technologies including JavaScript, AJAX, XSLT and XPath, and JavaScript frameworks such as MooTools and jQuery;
- Leading technical projects with a focus on quality and improving the user experience;
- Working directly with clients to design and develop elegant solutions;
- Cross-browser testing experience; and
- Creating rapid prototypes of interfaces to be used as blueprints for technical development.
You will be a keen analytical problem solver who is eager to share your ideas with others and you will have a good knowledge of database, network and .NET web application server architecture concepts and technologies.
You are motivated to design and implement an efficient and pleasing user experience, and respond well to the responsibility of being directly answerable to clients. You show care to spot problems before they appear, and have the initiative and enthusiasm to push for a solution.
