Responsibilities overview
He/She is responsible to:
- Ensure that the Unix/Linux systems are in a stable state and to provide necessary initiatives to isolate, troubleshoot resolve issues.
- Possess all-rounded domain knowledge for the Unix/Linux silo to provide guidance technical mentoring to Operational team.
- Conduct knowledge acquirement transfer in the team to ensure Operational team have equivalent level of knowledge on the domain.
- Provide a single of contact of the Unix/Linux domain for the Operational team and other IT technology silos.
- Review and approve technical solutions for conformance to standards and architectural requirements.
- Provide consultation assist Operational Project teams in supporting solutions.
- Develop appropriate metrics to measure total system performances.
- Develop relevant, repeatable criteria for assessing future problems.
- Ensure that critical incidents are well managed and postmortems are followed.
- Ensure adequate documentation for all best practices and Unix/Linux incident management request fulfillment processes.
Requirements
• Minimum 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in managing a large scale, heterogeneous clustered Unix/Linux OS environment.
• Must be able to work on Paris shift hours.
• Must be flexible to support during weekends and on-call as per the support needs.
• Customer service oriented, able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and troubleshooting skills.
• In-depth, working knowledge of operating systems like HP-UX, Solaris and RHEL.
• In-depth, working knowledge of MC Service Guard, VxVM, Geo Veritas cluster with SAN replication (HP CA) and Geo cluster with HP-UX replication software (OS LVM).
• Able to work autonomously in a multicultural environment.
• Experienced in financial sector would be appreciated.
