Commodity Structured Trade Finance (CSTF)

The CSTF team is a part of global trade receivable finance (GRTF). GRTF helps companies of all sizes worldwide to grow their business by offering a wide range of forward-thinking supply chain and traditional trade solutions. Our trade specialists work with the relationship managers to identify and develop solutions, achieving customers’?? business objectives and future aspirations.

Commodity Structured Trade Finance (CSTF) is an important component of GRTF’s business proposition in ASP. CSTF teams are to be based in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Australia. They are in charge of originating, structuring and implementing vanilla trade products, structured trade finance, and transactional finance to commodity customers for both Global Banking and Commercial Banking customer groups.

Principal Accountabilities

Reporting into Regional Head of CFRM, the incumbent will assist in the credit risk management of CSTF in Singapore including in areas of establishing best practice policies, processes and systems to address the post-sanction monitoring and control of the CSTF portfolio credit risk and pre-approval: CSTF will be delivered to customers in global and commercial banking.

• Drive management of key credit risks and related reporting for the local portfolio

• Establish and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders

• Deliver a robust local credit management infrastructure and reporting to underpin effective risk monitoring and control of the portfolio (to include oversight of the Transaction Management Unit under a 4 eyes principle)

• Ensure effective risk control and support for Internal Customers - CSTF Business Development, Commercial Banking (CMB) and Global Banking Markets (GBM).

• Drive timely and efficient risk assessments for External Customers – related CMB and GBM clients and new prospects

• Deliver accurate and relevant risk MI to Stakeholders – Global Trade Receivable Finance (GTRF), CMB, GB (REG/RBL), GM, Group Risk and regional/local risk functions

• Lead direction and set parameters for functional Risk reports and ensure delivery of objectives for both CSTF and, where appropriate, related stakeholders

• Engender a collegiate working environment for all team members and stakeholders

• Assist in driving identification and development of best practice systems and processes for Risk control functions, ensuring local roll-out

• Strengthen success rate by contributing to key risk decisions with Group Risk and by ensuring active management of the underlying exposures

Skills/Attributes

• In-depth knowledge of CSTF risk, mitigants, products and customers with minimum 5 years of such experience

• In-depth knowledge of best practice CSTF credit systems and processes with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

• Strong understanding of the marketplace and issues likely to impact on effective risk management

• demonstrated capacity to effectively deal with Credit, Market and Operational Risks as regards CSTF
