ETF Securities is a global provider of Exchange Traded Products (ETPs), specializing in commodities. ETF Securities pioneered the world’s first gold ETF in 2003 and now manages over 200 listed products on 10 exchanges in 6 currencies.

The global ETF platform offered by ETF Securities has experienced considerable growth with assets under management growing to over $28 billion (as of 9th Jan 2012). The increase in assets has occurred as a result of growing investor demand for commodities and a market leading exchange traded product offering.

ETF Securities continue to innovate and improve its product offering and has established itself as a leader in the field of exchange traded products.

Background to the Appointment

ETF Securities established its US business in June 2009. Since then, the firm has established a suite of  7 physically backed precious metals products with approx $4bn in Assets Under Management between them (as beginning 2012). More commodity ETFs are in the product development pipeline.

To support this initiative, there is a need to appoint proven sales executives who have a track record selling ETFs in the New York City and North East region. The main function of this role will be to drive the successful promotion of ETF Securities US business and grow the territory with a particular focus on Wirehouse and RIA channels.

ETF Securities is headquartered in New York City where the role will be located.

The individual will report directly to the Managing Director, USA, who is based in New York City.

  

Responsibilities include:

• To build and grow the firms AUM and distribution of ETFs within the territory

• To create and maintain an extensive contact database of potential clients

• To suggest new and build on existing marketing events and sales strategies

• To provide support on the operations and management of exchange traded investments

• To develop and maintain the firms research tools and databases

• To provide support and ideas for the development of new exchange traded investments and to assist with the execution of new products

• To take on a share of the administrative duties handled by executives

Essential Skills

Potential candidates will need to be highly motivated, creative and commercial.  They should be entrepreneurial in spirit and show a willingness to succeed in a high performing team.

Technical

• Minimum of 3 years sales experience within ETF markets or Wholesaling

• A comprehensive understanding of the North East Wirehouse and RIA client base

• Proven business development capabilities, winning new clients and demonstration of relationship management

• An appreciation of the different approaches required for different customer segments

• Series 7 and 63 securities licences

• Self sufficient and self motivated

• Strong communication (oral and written) skills and ability to create and maintain client relationships are paramount
