ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Matthews is looking for a highly talented senior asset management marketing professional to help guide the firm
through its next phase of growth in the U.S and offshore. The candidate should have a demonstrable record of financial
brand building, as well as creativity, exceptional communications skills, and strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
The SVP is responsible for developing and executing the firm's global marketing strategy. He/She will develop brand, product,

and market communications strategies and successfully implement these initiatives to build the Matthews brand globally and grow
the firm's client base. 
Specific responsibilities include:

Strategy

•Develop clear, consistent and achievable strategic marketing plans;
•Drive marketing activities from concept to launch
•Conduct primary and secondary research necessary to develop and support marketing plans;
•Evaluate and prioritize prospective new strategies;
•Identify new markets for the Firm's products and services and develop methods to reach those markets;
•Maintain and or retain the outside resources necessary to execute marketing strategies.

Brand and Communications

•Manage all aspects of the firm's communications with clients, prospects and media around the world, including
•Weekly, monthly, and quarterly communications
•Shareholder reports and prospectuses
•Special reports
•Online presence (currently 4 websites and a social media program)
•Advertising
•Media Relations
•Direct Mailings
•Conferences Sponsorship
•Shareholder Services/Customer Service
•Translation of materials
•Continue to advance Matthews' online presence and strategy for utilizing social media;
•Build brand awareness in all key markets
•Manage the communications functions effectively so as to deliver high quality information on a timely and cost-effective basis.
•Support new product launches with marketing and communications programs

Product

•Perform regular competitive analysis of product lines to assess the Firm's strengths and weaknesses versus competitors;
•Analyze new product opportunities that will reinforce the Firm's strengths while delivering an excellent investment opportunity
 to shareholders.
•Develop product marketing and communication programs

Management

•Collaborate with the client service and business development teams, investment team, Executive Committee members, and legal and
 compliance departments
•Supervise preparation of the marketing budget and monitor progress to assure that budget targets are met;
•Effectively manage the department's resources, both internal and external, to deliver the highest quality marketing services possible
•Oversee internal external resources (media relations; advertising; fulfillment; web and video specialists; social media;
 other communications partners)
•Provide for the guidance, training, supervision and support needs of the marketing staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have a 15+ years demonstrated track record of success in designing and steering the marketing initiatives for
 an asset management firm.
•This person should have been part of a team that has led a firm through rapid growth in assets and introduction of new fund products.
•Expertise in defining and implementing marketing and brand building strategies for mutual funds will be mandatory.
•Candidates must understand mutual fund industry (US and non-US UCITS) and the current regulatory compliance environment.
•Demonstrated expertise in developing interactive (online) communication programs
•Candidates must possess exceptional skills related to the production of investor communications. 
•Asia or international experience, while not mandatory, will be an advantage
