Senior VP – Chartering

Our client, a well-established supply chain manager of agricultural and energy products and metals, minerals and ores is looking to add a senior charterer to their Hong Kong Office.

Responsible for the management and development of the Panamax Freight Book:

· Be an active member of the Chartering Leadership team by contributing to key decisions and strategic direction of the Chartering division within the group
· Risk management of panamax book - market and credit risk

· Building up a cargo base in panamaxes

· Chartering in of ships, either spot or long term

· Execution of fixtures and operational risk management

· Managing the panamax team

· Client relationships

· Reporting to management on weekly/monthly basis

· Direct the workflow of processes including rate quotations and proposals

· Trading cargoes and negotiating contracts for a variety of project cargoes and commodities

· Revenue generation through strategic project bidding

Required Experience

· 15 years of experience gained through the Shipping / Chartering Industry and at least 5 years managing a freight team.

· Thorough knowledge of chartering practice, vessel operations, post fixture analysis, applicable industry contracts, and general knowledge of freight, transportation, and end to end project logistics.

· University bachelor degree or equivalent is preferred
