Senior VP – Financial Institutions Group (FIG) recruitment

The individual will be responsible for a portfolio of Asian banks.  It is envisaged that the portfolio will include some of Asia's most complex and high-profile banks.  It is essential, therefore, that the analyst has sufficient experience, analytical depth and credibility to handle what is expected to be a challenging portfolio in terms of issuer and investor interaction.  In addition the individual will take a lead role in the ratings of the banks in one or more of Asia's emerging markets.

The role involves conducting analysis of the credit profile of rated and unrated banks, developing in-depth knowledge of regional financial systems and institutions, and writing research on individual banks and systems. The role requires frequent interaction with investors, intermediaries and issuers, and managing assigned relationships. 

Responsibilities:

l        Monitor credit profile of rated banks.

l        Follow through new rating requests and assign new ratings.

l        Write accurate, insightful and focused credit research of a high quality.

l        Develop in-depth knowledge of the banks and systems assigned.

l        Build and maintain high profile relationships with investors, issuers and other market participants.

l        Present credits effectively and comprehensively in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings.

l        Represent the company at conferences and other public forums.

Qualifications:

l        Strong academic background with good accounting and financial analysis skills.

l        Fluent English written and verbal communication.  

l        Proven credit assessment experience gained from a financial institution, asset manager, public accounting firm or regulatory body

l        At least 10 years professional experience.

l        Strong quantitative aptitude and demonstrated analytical ability.

l        Understanding of complex transaction structures, with exposure to documentation review.

l        Strong organizational skills with sound judgment.

l        Mature and balanced personality with ability to represent the company effectively at very senior level.

l        Willingness to travel extensively across region.
