Job Description: Senior Account Manager progressing to Junior AD level
Title: Senior/Account Manager - Europe
Reports to: Associate Director
Job purpose:
The position reports primarily to an Associate Director and at times to CEO. The purpose of the role is to ensure that client's objectives are met on a day to day basis. The position will take responsibility for the execution of strategies developed (in consultation) by the Associate Director, managing local agencies to deliver strategic initiatives and working in partnership with on-site marketing departments. The role will involve close client liaison and regular face to face meetings with clients, on-site teams and local agency partners on a national and international basis. This position is a pivotal one in ensuring the delivery of high performance results on behalf of selected clients, and will include frequent European travel of up to three nights per week.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities;
1.1 Execute and deliver the client marketing strategies on a day to day basis in accordance with KPIs set by the client and senior agency staff. Prioritise and manage departmental activity in line with client demands and in response to team workloads.
1.2 Liaise with clients on a day to day basis, attend and present at client meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid client development.
1.3 Secure high returns on client investment.
1.4 Manage (and deliver when necessary) marketing communication strategies, in association with international agency partners and on-site marketing teams
1.5 Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established KPI criteria. Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels.
1.6 Brainstorm and develop creative strategies and one-off campaigns which set new benchmarks in creative delivery, positioning the agency as 'head and shoulders' above the competition. Create client presentations and manage the day to day marketing schedules required to meet our client's strategies
1.7 Develop, manage and maintain suppliers for the agency ensuring that client objectives are being met in line with budgets. Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
1.8 Manage and deliver weekly client status reports, prepare senior management reports for clients, research and prepare media reports, ensuring that weekly and monthly evaluation takes place in accordance with client/internal reporting procedures.
1.9 Develop industry knowledge and skills pertinent to clients sectors, research client competition and advise clients and senior internal management accordingly. Research and maintain a high degree of 'local/regional' knowledge for relevant clients.
Key Skills and Experience Required;
Excellent communication skills in English - both written and oral
Fluent in second European language, preferably French
Extremely literate PC skills and well developed knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with at least 2 years marketing experience.
Proven experience in managing and developing staff.
Highly organised with demonstrable budget planning and control skills.
Proven marketing campaign management experience.
Experience of marketing in retail/property development an advantage
