Server Engineer Job in Bellevue, Washington Us
Playdom is seeking a talented server engineer to help build the next generation of social gaming platforms using common web service frameworks such as Ruby on Rails and PHP to scale a game experiences to millions in a matter of days. Our server engineers tackle some of the hardest challenges associated with game development in terms of providing a stable platform for client teams and providing the entire environment for games to run in. It requires great design skills to ensure clean design patterns and approaches can be used to produce a solid game server that can meet team demands.
- Design and implement flexible XML web services to support game client team features
- Integrate server and platform projects with external and internal web services
- Work closely with content developers to facilitate tools design and production
- Assist in reaching scalability and performance goals
- 3+ years of professional software experience in web frameworks like Ruby on Rails or PHP and MySQL.
- Strong debugging skills
- Strong understanding and competence with web service design and data modeling
- Comfortable developing in both Windows and Linux environments
- BS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
