The candidate is required to implement and support (during the implementation phase) websites for VerseOne's own content management system (CMS), Stakeholder Relationship Management (SRM) and Incident Process Management (IPM). The candidate should present an excellent knowledge of server side development tools and techniques. The candidate should ideally have knowledge in coding Accessible and search engine friendly websites. The candidate should ideally present a creative portfolio of website coding for assessment.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities
· Developing Accessible web sites based on client requirements by
o Developing and amending custom scripts using server side language
o Developing and amending HTML and CSS
o Testing applications based on the agreed specification with the client/project manager
o Web server administration e.g IIS
· Liaising with the designer, front end developer, project manager and clients during implementation to confirm the site is delivered on time and meets functional and quality requirements.
· Keeping the project manager informed of progress, and advising at the earliest opportunity if any work is likely to take more or less time than allocated for it.
· Supporting current and new clients’ websites.
Skills and Competencies
Required
· The candidate should be intuitive and display a creative and independent mindset, whilst enjoying working as part of a team.
· The candidate should have an excellent knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, SQLServer/Oracle)
· Server-side language (Coldfusion, PHP, ASP, Java/J2EE, Ruby, Python) MySQL and web server administration e.g. IIS.
· Experience of developing web services.
· Experience of testing websites and web development.
· Excellent problem solving skills.
· Communication skills to be able to discuss requirements with clients (usually by phone).
· Ability to work under pressure.
· Exposure to e-commerce development
· Working knowledge of how a design would work in code XHTML, CSS, Javascript and jQuery.
· Working knowledge of web standards and web accessibility to be put into practice when creating websites.
Highly Desirable
· Coldfusion 8 /9 - Development Experience/Knowledge.
· Implementation and configuration of websites within a Windows (IIS 6/7) and UNIX (Apache 2+)
· Knowledge of content management systems.
· Knowledge of coding for search engine optimisation (SEO).
· Previous experience of working in a client-facing role.
Additional Information
· A full UK driving licence and own transport would be advantageous.
· Due to the size and entrepreneurial nature of VerseOne’s business, the candidate may from time to time be expected to complete tasks outside of normal business hours and/or their core role requirements.
