Harrington Starr is currently partnered with a leading Financial Services Institution who is currently looking to hire a new Server Support Analyst, with a specific lean towards SQL.
If you are successful with your application with the Server Support Analyst role, you will be expected to carry out the following duties on a daily basis:
* Helping to maintain over 12,000 servers on a daily basis
* Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting issues
* Providing 1st-3rd line support on in house applications
* Providing performance tuning to over 30 SQL servers
* Replicating servers
* Scripting in Powershell
The successful individual will be subjected to one the of the UK's finest Financial Institutions, you will be joining a relatively small and growing team, allowing you the possibility for progression. As a result of your position in the team you will be the go to individual for the majority of 3rd line MS SQL Server queries. You will be allowed to develop your skill to a deep technical standard, replicating servers using SSIS and SSRS technologies and performance tuning. The role itself is not a DBA role, you will also be providing support and constructing servers on a regular basis. 60% of my clients Servers are virtualised and as a result you will be able to become more increasingly efficient in Citrix and VMware.
In order to successfully apply for the Server Support Analyst role you must have used the following technologies and skills:
* Experience providing support to over 30 SQL Servers
* Experience providing performance tuning to SQL servers
* Experience using SSIS and SSRS
* Experience using Powershell is beneficial
* Experience using Microsoft Server and Exchange server, VMware and Citrix
* Excellent communication skills
