Pocono Peterbilt is actively seeking an experienced second shift Service Advisor / Shop Foreman responsible for: listening to customer complaints, writing workorders and communicating all findings with the customer. Additionally, this individual oversees the efficient use of shop space, supervision of technicians, and proper use of the shop equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

§  Greets customer as they arrive

§  Answers incoming phone calls and schedules appointments

§  Determines customer needs and opens repair order

§  Notifies customer of technicians diagnosis and obtains authorization to perform repairs

§  Keeps customer informed on progress, additional service needs, and the timeframe involved

§  Performs other service writing and warranty administration details as instructed

§  Assigns repair orders, plans and controls work distribution

§  Supervises repair performance, assists technicians in performing problem repairs

§  Monitors shop tools and equipment. Notifies Service Manager of any problems

§  Monitors inventory of oil, grease, shop supplies, etc. Notifies Service Manager of supplies needed

§  Maintains proper library of manuals, service bulletins, instructions and references for technicians

§  Keeps abreast of shop methods, tools and techniques

§  Makes recommendations regarding employment of shop personnel

§  Ensures that sublet repairs are properly scheduled, completed and costed, and that payments for such work are in order

§  Reports customer dissatisfaction to Service Manager

§  Other duties as assigned by the Service Manager

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

§  High School Diploma or Equivalent

§  Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a technician, shop foreman, service advisor and/or manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Applicant must understand the operation of a heavy duty truck dealership service department. Additional qualifications are as follows:

 

§  Organizational and leadership skills

§  Valid Commercial Drivers License

§  Background check and drug test

§  Be able to use basic diagnostic equipment

§  Possess basic computer skills

§  PACCAR, Cummins, Cat ASE certifications preferred

§  Dealership and/or Peterbilt, Kenworth or Paccar experience preferred
