Indigenous Service Delivery Advisor

We are currently seeking applications for an Indigenous Service Delivery Advisor at our Townsville venue ongoing until 30 June 2012. This role is offered on a part-time basis (30-32 hours per week) working in the Ayr, Tully and Cardwell areas.

The purpose of this role is to connect local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and families by referring and linking them to a range of mainstream and Indigenous support services. Other responsibilities include developing and documenting appropriate models of best practice and resources regarding services available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families and providing culturally appropriate assistance and advice around group facilitation, community capacity building, promotion, education, mediation and appropriate referrals.

The successful applicant for this role will possess demonstrated experience working with and advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in a variety of settings. In addition, an undergraduate qualification in Social or Behavioural Sciences, Education or Law is highly desirable.
