Job Summary
The Service Delivery Manager – NA will lead the technical direction, design, development, delivery and leadership of strategic new Technology initiatives. This person will also supervise a team that includes System Administrators (Linux, AIX, Windows), Storage Engineers, and Network Administrators. This person will play a significant role in strategic and tactical direction of key projects, and will engage cross-functionally at all levels of the organization. This position requires business and technical expertise in distributed solution and infrastructure, and extensive expertise in various technologies such as Storage, Servers, Virtualization, Linux, AIX Windows.
This is a hands-on technical manager role so there will be a combination of resource management and responsibility to work with all areas of infrastructure environments to deliver high availability and high performing solutions. This role will be responsible for understanding current state and creating the roadmap to future state with a hands-on approach to develop the teams' skills and technical understanding. This person will be the point of escalation for support and troubleshooting so must be able to dig into various systems as part of the resolution process.
Essential Tasks
Leadership Infrastructure Operability: Recommend and execute distributed infrastructure hardware and software configuration, installation, patching, integration, upgrades, and performance tuning of multiple environments while leveraging vendor relationships and expertise as required. Deliver operational and administrative mentorship to IT Systems Administrators in support of critical production systems.
IT Operations: Support daily operations related to the Distributed environments such as capacity management, performance monitoring and reporting, provisioning, and network systems connectivity. Ability to provide after hours (on-call) support, and maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
Architecture Design: Provide Distributed server design, implementation, and support recommendations to information technology partners and IT leadership with an emphasis on data security, availability, integrity, and optimal performance.
Systems Administration: Deliver operational support related to the hosts attached to the respective storage systems, including but not limited to servers and clusters running Microsoft Windows, SUSE Linux, VMware ESX/vSphere, IBM iSeries, and HP-UX.
Risk, Compliance, Sustainability and Process Improvement: Ability to consistently adhere to change and incident management policies when implementing system changes and addressing problem resolution.
Technical Management: Supervision of Technical staff includes providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance to support all initiatives in US. Work closely with cross-functionally business partners and IT peers to fully understand business requirements and implement long-term solution to enable business growth.
Job Requirements
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent 12+ years of Management experience in multiple functions: Virtualization, Storage, Mid-range, Linux, AIX, Windows Networks platforms
•Experience designing, managing, and administering complex virtualization environments in multiple locations which provide High-Availability, reliability, and scalability
•Experience with highly virtualized environments utilizing VMware with Linux (SUSE), Windows AIX.
•Experience administering, architecting, and managing servers, storage, and systems monitoring in multiple and complex network server environments
•Experience adhering to change and incident management policies in an enterprise environment
•Experience with VMware vSphere environments using EMC and NetApp storage via Fiber Channel NFS
Strong Preference for Certifications in the following areas:
•Virtualization: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDE)
•Linux: SLES Certification
•Windows: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
•Network: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Preferred Requirements (skills and abilities):
•Must have an excellent understanding of infrastructure systems and SLA's for 24x7x365
•Must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
•Ability to deliver technical and administrative support partnership to IT Systems and Applications administrators in the IT department
•Knowledge of Application Servers such as Control-M and SAP.
•Must be willing to manage the team as a resource manager as well as a very technically strong leader to understand current industry trends and their advantages to the enterprise.
