Service Desk Engineer – (Shift based) Nottingham Job in Nottingham, Midlands Uk

Service Desk Engineer/ IT Support required working for a national IT services business in their managed IT support department. You will provide remote desktop support and systems/server administration to a variety of external clients on a shift based rota but with a true career path ahead including Microsoft accreditations, more technical positions and either long term future in either in house or on site infrastructure work.

Desktop technologies will include; MS Office, XP / 2000 / Vista/ 7, Outlook, remote access tools, bespoke applications, antivirus, desktop/laptop hardware and ideally some server skills including Windows 2003 / 2008, Active Directory, Exchange and anything else!
This division supplies a varied range of technical client infrastructure support across a variety of managed services customers but works within sector specific teams and so you'll be required to work on a number of disciplines dependant on the skills you suit.

The structure incorporates SLA frameworks, remote management/support, incident/problem management, service desk and all across client agreements. With previous support experience ideally within an IT services business or department you will be seeking a new challenge where you can not only make your mark in a business but can sit as part of a technical growth structure.

Applicants will need to have good all round desktop technical and customer service skills to manage client incidents and issues through to resolution. This role would suit a good all rounder wanting to carve there career in IT or those wishing to move to a services company for a better career opportunity.

*Please note this role is a 24/7 4 day on / 4 days off rota including night shift (7am – 7pm, 7pm – 7am) shift rota in a central Nottingham operations centre. As such you must be efficient and able to work from your own initiative as well as being able to accurately follow operational tasks and workflows.
