Summary

This position performs level one incident management and request fulfillment, including categorization; investigation and diagnosis; escalation; resolution and restoration; and closure. Escalate incidents to level two as needed. Communicates with clients about incidents and requests, and updates and resolves incidents and requests in Service Desk application.

Responsibilities

 

Installs, supports, and troubleshoots desktop operating systems and application software, including MS Windows; MS Office; email; anti-virus; Internet Explorer, and other standard company applications. Remediate virus and spyware incidents. Performs hardware diagnostics and coordinates repair of personal computers. Installs printers and peripherals, and supports Blackberry devices, video conferencing system, and other hardware. Performs hardware and software upgrades to personal computers as needed.

Provides support services to end users regarding network, VPN, and wireless connectivity. Provide after hours, on - call support services on a rotating schedule. Performs other related duties as assigned to accomplish the objectives of this position.

Qualifications/Requirements

This position requires experience with Windows XP/Windows 7, remote desktop control, and PC imaging technologies. A solid understanding of installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware and peripheral equipment is required.

Service Desk support experience in Windows networking environment and a fundamental understanding of web technologies is required.

This position requires good analytical skills and the ability to work both independently as well as part of a team. Excellent customer service and communication skills and telephone etiquette are required. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to multitask and stay well organized in a fast paced environment. A good understanding of the business impact and urgencies of the clients is required.
