Service Desk Technician Job in Silver Spring 20907, Maryland US

Seeking a Service Desk Technician (Level 2) to work primarily in our downtown Silver Spring office and occasionally in our Rockville, MD office.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, addresses basic needs of the user community with respect to hardware/software installation, troubleshooting and setup, telecommunications use, and repair or upgrading of hardware and software resources. This position is 80% telephonic, 20% desk side.

 

Required Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and two years of related desktop support experience or High School completion and five years relevant experience providing IT service support; vendor certification on current desktop operating system; familiarity with specified IT hardware, applications and environments.  Must be capable of lifting items (boxes, computer equipment, etc.) weighing up to 30 pounds repeatedly. Good verbal and written communication skills.  MCP, A+, Net +, ITIL, Altiris experience desired, but not required. Knowledge of Dell systems, core Microsoft product lines (to include Windows 7, Office 2010, IE 8, 9) is required.
