Service Engineer Job in Aberdeen, Scotland UK

My client a large Service company based in Aberdeen are looking for several Service Engineers to provide engineering support to the Customer base in Aberdeen and offshore North Sea for the lifetime support and modification of control Instrumentation systems, including installation, commissioning and start-up, brownfield projects and modifications, and maintenance of operational control systems and enabled field devices.

You will be required to work alongside customers to understand their requirements and develop controls system solutions to customer's satisfaction.

You will be responsible for visiting client sites and installations onshore and offshore, assisting in design studies, hardware software upgrades modifications, acceptance tests, installation, commissioning, training, fault analysis and rectification.

To undertake or manage major modification programs, related to hardware and software
Utilise applications to generate performance data and interpret this data into meaningful recommendations for the customer.

To perform tasks to meet Service Support Contract Commitments and carry out installation/commissioning, fault analysis and repairs on products, including investigation of persistent or not easily resolvable problems at customer sites.

To develop and implement product/system configuration changes at site to meet customer requirements and provide on-site customer training in the application, service and operation departments, you will also assist Sales Engineers in the demonstration of products to potential customers and to provide guidance in product application and after sales service.

You will ideally be HNC/level in an Engineering discipline such as control engineering, computer science, or electronics Strong problem solving skills and self-motivation to work alone to resolve technical problems at customer sites.

Relevant experience as a Service or Instrument Engineer in a safety systems environment with a particular emphasis on brownfield installations, commissioning and start-up.
Process Control System or Safety System expertise.
An understanding of Upstream Oil and Gas control, including control and instrumentation theory, control loop configuration and tuning, Experience in on-site engineering in either ABB, Yokogowa, Emerson, Honeywell, Rockwell, Siemens and/or competitor products.
Working offshore is a requirement of the role so an offshore survival certificate would be an advantage along with a full driving license.
