SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates activities of workers in Service Department operations to ensure full service to meet consumer demands with minimum interruptions to service by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Supervises and directs activities and work schedules of technicians, installers, dispatchers and inventory coordinator.

 

Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.

 

Coordinates all service work between service department and other departments and is responsible for maintaining all records required by the service department.

 

Assures that appropriate service technician safety training and regular monthly meetings are maintained.

 

Assures that proper communication occurs and that communication equipment is operational at all times.

 

Authorizes and supervises repair and maintenance of service vehicles and other service equipment.

 

Adheres to company policies for promoting business and excellent customer relationships.

 

Directs activities of workers engaged in investigating and adjusting customer complaints relating to servicing of customer’s needs.

 

Must be able to work overtime when necessary, including nights and weekends.

 

Must be available by phone during off hours to the on-call technician in case he/she has questions about a call.

 

Maintains communication within other departments to ensure all employees are informed of changes, etc.

 

Performs other tasks assigned by supervisor to provide general support to company operations.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises the employees in the Service Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
