Job Description: Time Warner Cable is currently seeking Service Technicians for our Technical Operations Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position. Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to troubleshoot and repair field problems from subscribers? homes to amplifiers. Essential Job Functions: ? Performs all duties of the installer, such as: connects and disconnects cable and pay television services, as well as, performs upgrades, downgrades, pre-wiring and multiple dwelling installations ? Perform service calls on all services provided. Troubleshoot and repair service problems from the back of the TV set to the amplifiers ? Uses various tools and equipment proficiently and in accordance with safety guidelines. These include, but are not limited to: screwdrivers, pliers, shovels, ladders and various test meters, sweep systems, bench alignment gear, signal analysis meters, DVM, VOM, locating equipment, leakage detection equipment, TDR, digital meters, RF/D6 meter and multi-meter, and two way radio ? Responds to and completes subscriber technical service calls. Repairs include, but are not limited to: drop wiring, premise equipment replacement, and house wiring ? Maintains and stocks necessary materials and tools for company vehicle ? Records data on system equipment and operation/services and accurately completes all paperwork as assigned ? Performs technical troubleshooting by climbing on ladders, telephone poles, and other structures; lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds, digging, crawling, stooping and standing. Works outside throughout the year. Works in various weather conditions, which may be extreme hot or cold conditions. May drive for long periods of time and works in dark/confined spaces. ? Performs, practices, and enforces safety rules and procedures when exhibiting technical tasks ? Sell additional services and/or products to subscribers based on quota ? Performs on-call duty in the event of a system outage as required ? Perform other duties as requested Job Requirements: ? Valid Texas Driver?s License and good driving record ? Meet and maintain safe load limits for provided equipment, in accordance with TWC Weight Restriction Policy ? Good verbal, written and interpersonal communications and mechanical aptitude ? Thorough knowledge of city and amp reading, signal level meters, sweep systems, amplifiers, bench alignment gear, signal leakage detection equipment and various other troubleshooting devices, and two-way radio procedures ? Ability to solve and repair technical problems with customers and technicians through effective verbal communication Preferred Qualifications: ? First aid and CPR is desired ? Bilingual Preferred ? English/Spanish ? Minimum of six months experience in installation position ?
