Services Division, Finance and Planning, Associate, Singapore recruitment
The Asia Finance and Planning Associate, a member of the Global Finance and Planning Team in the Services Division, will be responsible for reporting and analyzing finances related to key parts of Goldman Sachs’ cost base across Asia. This position will report locally to the Asia Expense Management Lead based out of Singapore and functionally to the Global Lead. This function will work closely with the Facility Management, Real Estate Planning Team, Travel, Hospitality, Document Management and Regional Management in Asia.
The position provides analytical and commercial support for Corporate Services and Real Estate, at a Regional and Global level, on an ongoing basis and especially during annual budget and procurement contract evaluations.
Principal Responsibilities
? Review management reports with business managers and engage on financial and business metric variance analysis
? Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business decision making (e.g. Cost per Seat analysis for opening a new office and comparing across various options)
? Provide strategic business analytics and recommendations for vendor negotiations
? Provide financial support for vendor evaluation on contract performance relating to a range of critical services for The Firm: Facility Management, Travel etc
? Support key projects and process standardisation as part of global initiatives to ensure that the key processes are efficient and standard across the offices.
? Coordinate the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasting processes
? Present, using tools like video conferencing and PowerPoint, to Asia regional management on expense trends and analysis
? Drive re-engineering of existing processes and, where possible, work with transition team to migrate tasks to Finance Support Centres
? Participate and drive Global and Regional initiatives/ projects for e.g. global expense management taskforces, reporting requirements etc.
Basic Skills
? Qualified accountant with minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience
? Ability to grasp complex issues quickly, interpret information and communicate financial issues and analysis to non-financial staff
? Strong analytical skills and impeccable attention to detail
? Strong networking skills to establish contacts within Finance and Facility Management Real Estate teams
? Ability to organise own time and work independently, without close supervision
? Proven skills with MS office products (particularly Excel) and a desire to learn new systems
