Posted Position Title: Services Quality Assurance / Quality Engineer Drilling Career Level: Experienced Function Manufacturing Function Segment: Manufacturing Quality Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Texas City: Houston Postal Code: 77032-3411 Relocation Assistance No Role Summary/Purpose: The Services Quality Engineer is a key member of the Quality Assurance team at GE Oil Gas providing essential Quality Assurance support for our equipment services. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and implementing effective Quality Plans to meet requirements; helping to define better ways of data collection and adherence to API, ASME, and Third Party Specifications. Essential Responsibilities - Review customer contracts and identify Quality requirements to sales or project leader - Using contract Quality requirements prepare Quality Plans and Inspection Test Plans for customer approval - Obtain agreement on inspection activities with customer and Third Party Agencies - Define manufacturing data books contents and format to be compliant with the contract - Review and approve Supplier Quality Plans - Attend internal and customer project management meetings to review contract Quality performance - Participate in design reviews, technical kickoff meetings, production meetings, supplier meetings, to assure Quality requirements are understood and implemented - Primary interface with the customer and their representative on all Quality matters - Prepare customer concession requests - Prepares and submits Quality reports required by the contract and department - Establishing Quality leadership relationship with key functions of the company, including Sales, Engineering, Projects, Manufacturing, Overhaul Repair, Procurement - Facilitate customer and other external audits - Review and analyze manufacturing processes, internal and supplier - Develop monitoring and reporting methods to allow problem area recognition - Assess the adequacy and timeliness of process measurements for providing the necessary information to manufacturing and suppliers for process control - Assist manufacturing and suppliers in root cause analysis and problem solving - Performs internal and supplier audits in accordance with the audit schedule - Develop Quality related procedures and work instructions - Develop and conduct Quality related training material / classes for both internal and supplier personnel - Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in achieving effective and economical process that meet requirements - Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in assuring personnel know and understand their roles and responsibilities, authority, and accountability for meeting requirements Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelors Degree in any of the Engineering or Science disciplines from an accredited university or college - Minimum of 3 years of industry experience Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
