Posted Position Title: Services Solutions Engineer Career Level: Experienced Function Services Function Segment: Field Services Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Texas City: League City Postal Code: 77573-3367 Relocation Assistance No Role Summary/Purpose: The Services Engineer for Solutions will develop repeatable automation solutions focused on a specific target application. Role will provide technical development of solution implementations for the Control and Communication Systems (CCS) Services business and will interact with multiple cross-functional stakeholders. Essential Responsibilities Meet application scope and features within the required schedule. Identify deviations from scope and propose opportunities to improve the quality, functionality and repeatability of the developed solutions. Communicate effectively with other services personnel on project deliverables and portions of the development. Provide hands on implementation and milestone compliance with regard to: * System configuration * Strategy development * Panel design requirements * HMI development * Peripherals * Project documentation * Training of other GE IP engineers assigned to the team * Working with Software Engineering to productize the solutions and provide revision control Develop and implement tools and processes to create repeatable automation solutions Effectively communicate with peers and team members, supporting system design engineering and project execution teams Develop and implement processes to evaluate, capture, and apply best practices and lessons learned Effectively communicate progress and execution risks to Senior Engineers and other stakeholders. Supports high-level architecting of technical solutions to satisfy marketing requirements Qualifications/Requirements: * Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in design, configuring commissioning of automation systems * Experience with field implementation of automation solutions * Strong written and verbal skills * Experience translating specifications to successful project implementation * Background in process control, advanced control and field devices including various controls communications protocols * HMI and networking experience * PLC programming experience * Strong oral and written communication skills * This position requires availability to travel at least 50% of the time, both within the United States and Internationally. Desired Characteristics * Bachelors or Masters degree in Software, Electrical, Computer or comparable engineering disciplines * Strong exposure to Automation technologies, including data collection, control integration, visualization, SCADA, automated decision control, database applications, interface to peripheral manufacturing/process systems * Experience in developing and implementing Mission Critical Systems * Strong business acumen in a technical environment * Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills * Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual contributor * Proven ability to write clear, concise requirements, and design documents * Six Sigma Green Belt certification * Development in an ISO-certified environment * Position can be located in any of the GEIP Core locations
