Right now we are assisting one of our clients in the search for a SharePoint Architect. In addition to creating and maintaining Microsoft SharePoint site portals, creating work flows and user permissions, the following are also expectations of the role:

  • As a technical leader, ensure smooth and top-quality delivery of project in collaboration with project manager and the project team
  • Participate in design, code, test reviews cycles.
  • Ensures project scope and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Provide detailed architecture analysis and design, and direction on the development activities
  • Provide leadership in gaining insight on functional and non-functional requirements related to technical delivery of the project.
  • Develop the conceptual SP 2010 solution architecture. Identify gaps/overlaps between the as-is and to-be SharePoint intranet environment by process/function.
  • Ability to document technical architectures that could be clearly understood and immediately used by developers to construct code and unit test.
  • Coordinate with datacenter operations, business application, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of responsible systems to meet corporate objectives.
  • Perform system and application configuration and management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems
  • Review and deploy new systems/application service packs, hot fixes, system updates, and vendor-supplied patches according to best practices.
  • Develop and maintain systems/application training materials and systems documentation for educating end users and new IT staff.
  • Work within a team environment, but must be able to work independently without direct supervision. Lead small projects or groups of people as needed.
  • Requirements for this position are as follows:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft SharePoint Server product and platform (Versions 2010 and 2007) with a minimum of 6+ months of hands-on development experience with SharePoint 2010 design through deployments including installation.
  • Proven success in creating SharePoint 2007 and 2010 application architectures for projects spanning business units, involving multiple resource pools, detailed understanding of SharePoint 2010 platform.
  • Multiple-project expertise in large to small farm SharePoint 2007 architecture design, and familiarity with infrastructure deployment.
  • Strong full life cycle software application development background is required (SDLC).
  • Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Portal Server
  • Knowledge and understanding of software architecture principles as applies to solutions and application architectures, specifically for portals, web sites and systems integration projects
  • Microsoft .NET framework, including ASP.NET, C#.NET, VB.NET, Windows Workflow Foundation, Windows communication foundation and Silverlight
  • Microsoft SQL Server technology and data modeling
  • Perform and/or manage the design and development of custom SharePoint Web parts
  • Active experience with enterprise projects on SharePoint including intranet portals, external web sites, applications etc.
  • Experience with Central Administration, MySites, Lists, Content types, workflows, web parts etc.
  • Technical communication (UML, design documentation)
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Microsoft BizTalk Server
  • Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist for SP 2010 a plus.
  • Strong Project Management skills/experience. PM certification is not required but would be a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • This is a permanent position located in Waltham, MA.
