The SharePoint Application Architect defines functional requirements design to support defined business requirements, participates in detailed design and code reviews, reviews test plans, and provides guidance on design, developer training, and support, as well as implementation responsibilities.  The Application Architect defines and ensures adherence to architecture standards and ensures the proper design decisions are being made.  The job may require interfacing with other Application Architects, Technical Architects, Application Architects, and Delivery and account leadership to define and validate requirements, contribute to business case development, coordinate project schedules, budgets, request management and work authorization.

 

The SharePoint Architect is responsible for high level architecture, critical designs and overseeing the build and deployment and support of solutions utilizing SharePoint and related collaboration technology.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

               Bachelor's Degree

               Minimum of 5 years experience in Corporate I/T or Consulting

               Minimum of 2 years experience working with SharePoint 2010 Server as a development platform

 

Preferred Skills/Experience:

 

               Strong knowledge of SharePoint Architecture, Object Model, Shared Services, SharePoint Templates and SharePoint Features

               Familiarity with SharePoint design and development using Visual Studio and SharePoint Designer

               Knowledge of C# and the .NET Framework.

               Experience with web development, including XHTML, Javascript, JQuery, AJAX, CSS, DOM, XML and XSLT.

               Experience building OOTB solutions and custom solution on SharePoint 2010, including Web Parts.

               Experience with MSFT Team Foundation Services and working in a .NET development environment

 

Professional Skills Requirements

 

               Ability to lead independent efforts in large enterprise

               Excellent communication skills;

               Ability to interact directly with customers for requirements gathering, prototype reviews, etc.

               Ability to prepare time and cost estimates for new development work
