Position Description:

The SharePoint Content Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation for the SharePoint Corporate strategy. This corporate strategy includes the direction for major business function (Stores, Merchants and Support Areas) and the replacement of SaksWorks (Corporate Intranet). This position will identify business requirements; deploy releases, enhancements, and upgrades. They will work very closely with with customers, developers, and team members at various levels, and act as a liaison between business teams, Information Technology and other SharePoint support personnel. They will assume responsibility for all aspects of SharePoint and will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals as well as collaboratively lead and direct the work of other team members from IT to super users. A wide degree of diplomacy, creativity and latitude is expected. The SharePoint Manager needs a blend of technical and functional skills with respect to SharePoint 2010 (and/or 2007). They need to have excellent technical and people skills. This position requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing SharePoint “no-code” solutions on top of the platform demonstrating their ability to satisfy business problems.

Primary Goals

Portal Development and Implementation

  • Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of the SharePoint Portal
  • Manage the overall project including project status and time and action plans and escalates any issues as necessary
  • Develop all design requirements of portal components (Web Parts)
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint 2010 sites and pages
  • Enforce standards when implementing sites, sub-sites, themes, and other features of the environment.
  • Develop and implement workflow solutions
  • Promote product usage and adoption
  • Create and implement a training plan for the roll out of new applications/system functionality
  • Develop and support business functions sites
  • support the migration of SharePoint 2007 data
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues working with business units and IT
  • Collaborate with business personnel to define requirements of development efforts
  • Report progress and status of assigned tasks to project teams and managers
  • Assume responsibility for all aspects of the project. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Collaboratively lead and direct the work of other team members from IT to super users. A wide degree of diplomacy, creativity and latitude is expected.

    Daily Operations / User Support

  • Performs all necessary administrative functions for the SharePoint Portal.
  • Develop and implement workflow solutions for business units.
  • Report on appropriate business metrics.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a consistently high standard for resolution, follow-through and communication to the users and our IT partners on system issues and requested enhancements.
  • Provide first level support to resolve technical issues.
  • Support users with all system issues, questions and concerns, fielding their questions and determining the nature of the problem (training vs. technical). Either resolve the issue with the user, or act as a liaison between the IT group and the user community until the issue has been fully resolved.
  • Test and document all changes made to assigned systems related to production bugs.
  • Conduct formal and informal user surveys, roundtables, etc. as necessary, in order to be in tune with their business needs and determine if there are system limitations that need to be addressed in order to support updated business processes.
  • Lead the user community in navigating through the systems process.
  • Develop support documents, training material and other resources to help with knowledge and comfort level of new products and services.
  • Investigate application issues and customer-driven production problems.
  • Ensures compliance of the process best practices and strategic execution.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of all technical aspects and architecture for the SharepPoint application.

    Partner with end user

  • Develop strategic direction with all the key business stakeholders
  • Analyze monthly system performance and communicate system strategies to key business stakeholders
  • Determine change management roadblocks, develop implement strategy to overcome to achieve overall adoption of new process
  • Qualifications:

  • College Graduate
  • Expert computer skills with solid understanding of Microsoft products
  • Strong sense of service to internal customers, demonstrating responsibility
    to champion initiatives that address business needs
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills, with special emphasis on active listening and interpretation skills

  • 3 yrs development and design experience with SharePoint (2007/ 2010)
  • Experience with SharePoint Migrations 2007 to 2010 a plus
  • Knowledge of SharePoint 2007/2010 templates, site templates, list templates, master page customization, workflows, Content Types, Managed Metadata, BCS, InfoPath
  • Knowledge of LDAP/Active Directory authentication and group security as it applies to SharePoint
  • Experience with Internal/External Facing Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Content Management
  • Understanding of SharePoint 2010 architecture, familiarity with central administration

  • Knowledge of Visual Studio 2010, SharePoint Designer, SQL Management Studio a plus
  • Understanding of Master Pages, CAML, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with Web programming languages a plus: ASP,PHP, Java Script, .Net.
