SharePoint Developer
Position Overview:
Allyis seeks a full-time mid to senior-level SharePoint Developer to assist our client with the development and build-out of a large internal portal that acts as a repository for content that needs to be published across the organization. This is an opportunity to influence the direction of the portal user experience and functional behavior through the initial development phase through post-launch feature enhancements using your SharePoint skills. Candidates should be adept at both the technical development nature of the role in addition to having the ability to provide ongoing consulting services for the betterment of the portal.
Responsibilities:
- Build-out portal based on existing mockups and/or developed .aspx pages in a SharePoint environment. Tasks may include but not limited to:
- Implement taxonomy
- Build-out term store
- Implement customized content delivery based on user type or permissions
- FastSearch enabled
- Ability to engage clients directly to explain software solutions, answer questions on features and/or development processes when needed.
- Contribute to functional and technical design, process, and use case design and reviews; ability to document and read functional and technical specifications.
- Self-management of workload and work assignments.
- Experience evaluating / estimating work effort, controlling scope, identifying risk and resolving conflict Issue and bug fix management.
- Help to define and implement development best practices, standards and processes.
- Thoroughly document development work completed.
Required Skills:
- 4+ years of related development experience in .NET / C#, ASP.NET, ASPX, XML, web-service (WCF)
- 2+ years of SharePoint development experience with at least 6 months on SharePoint 2010
- Experience having functioned as an individual contributor with project ownership
- Experience with all SharePoint customization approaches with a clear understanding of when to choose each approach:
- SharePoint Designer
- Visual Studio development
- Browser-based
- Solid understanding of the SharePoint Object Model and SharePoint technology stack
- SharePoint Specific Experience Desired
- Portal development, customized UI and CSS
- Master lists master page lay-outs
- SP web-part development - custom and data-view web-parts
- SP Branding and ribbon development
- SP OOB Web Services/ WCF / Web-services / REST
- SharePoint Workflow
- Solid understanding of SharePoint security
- Term Store
- Setup and configuration of FAST
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with video game industry
- Previous front-end design experience - working with wire-frames, design mockups, etc.
