SharePoint Systems Administrator Job in Peachtree City 30269, Georgia US

 Accountable for achieving the team’s strategic and tactical goals for SharePoint services delivery through effective management of systems and software resources.  This includes identifying new service opportunities, performing within budgetary guidelines, and providing status and technical reports for management.

1. Work with developers and business analysts to deploy SharePoint custom applications and site definitions.

2. Researches and proposes new technologies applying to the SharePoint services area.  Plan migration for future versions of any relevant products in the technology stack.

3. Proactively assess and optimize security and performance in all areas of the SharePoint farm and across all servers

4. Identifies reoccurring and potential SharePoint service affecting problems; recommends procedures and controls for prevention; and investigates alternative methods to expedite problem resolution.  Recognizes potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion, and develops recommendations to resolve.  

5. Works closely with other Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) and division IT groups throughout the enterprise to coordinate activities as they apply to systems infrastructure, system enhancements, and service development.

6. Develops and maintains a good working relationship with customers, vendors and information technology peers to promote a high level of creditability for the EBS team and generate high levels of participation in the overall service delivery process.

7. Responsible for maintaining and updating equipment inventory records, equipment problem records and systems documentation.

8. Upholds the enterprise policy guidelines as well as recommends new and improved guidelines to insure compatibility and better service enterprise users
 

This position involves planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems making up the Company’s SharePoint technology infrastructure.  The incumbent will also perform general Windows system administration, application installations and upgrades and perform systems programmer activities where required.  These activities require broad experience in general systems architecture.  In addition, the incumbent must be knowledgeable of; project management principles, and “Best Practices” concepts.

 

The primary challenge of the position is the efficient management of the Company’s SharePoint infrastructure to maximize service availability to end users while minimizing costs.  In this position, the incumbent is expected to be knowledgeable of the service objectives; be qualified to present business solutions when appropriate; participate in the fact gathering, analysis and cost justification process; and assist in the preparation of cost/benefit proposals for future information services when required.

 

Coordination is also required with division level information technology organizations.  This includes desktop support, operations and networking individuals and division IT directors.

 

Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience

• 3-5 years of SharePoint administration experience with an in depth understanding of enterprise-scale MOSS 2010 technology and other Microsoft technologies including CRM, EPM, Windows 2008 server, Active Directory, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting services, and IIS administration.  Familiar with MOSS forms-based authentication functionality and configuration for extranet access to the platform.

• Experience designing, implementing and managing Microsoft clustering architecture.

• Working knowledge of virtualization technologies, specifically VMware products, fiber channel SAN and iSCSI NAS storage environments.
 
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast pace environment while maintaining attention to detail.

• Conversant in the continual improvement process for service delivery and availability management, and “Best Practices” productivity tools.
