Our client is a hugely successful fast moving manufacturing company who are going from strength to strength. Their portfolio of clients includes some of the worlds leading automotive manufacturers.
Due to ongoing success this company is now looking to appoint a Shift Manager.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shift Manager will be responsible for all the manufacturing and production activities in the plant.
Key responsibilities
- Operational activities in Manufacturing and Production
- Quality Assurance and performance Metrics
- Data Management
- Coaching Mentoring, Appraisal and Assessment of the Zone Leaders
- Managing Production Targets, Schedules and Staffing levels
- Playing a leading role in implementing a Lean Manufacturing Culture
- Producing daily production reports
- Improving productivity through standard work and cycle time improvement
- Improving waste reduction and scrap
- Implement 5s improvement techniques and measures and maintain each shift
- Ensuring customer supply is maintained
- kaizen champion for your team
REQUIREMENTS
- Qualifications This role would suit somebody who is qualified in an engineering discipline to at least HNC standard or equivalent or would suit a graduate with work experience looking to move into management
- Proven production management experience or experience in an engineering related job role
- Must have worked in a sustained Lean environment
- Must be committed to 5S and Health and Safety
