Shift Manager Job in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne-Tees Uk
Our client is a global FMCG company and a leading player within the UK food manufacturing sector with sites based around the country. Due to company growth they are looking to strengthen their operations team and are now looking for a number of Shift Managers for their manufacturing site.
Within the role of Shift Manager you will be responsible for ensuring all production requirements are met with the management of personnel and process equipment, all production documentation is kept updated and that the site equipment and personnel work efficiently. You will cover all man management and talent management of production staff.
You will also be responsible for all health safety within the factory, process improvements, labour efficiency, material usage, quality and senior management, labour management, plant performance and supporting of the various systems that the plant has.
As a shift manager you will be heavily involved in the continuous improvement projects to increase the efficiency of your department and shift and will be involved in the training and development of your team members and also have an understanding of GMP, lean manufacturing, Health Safety, budget control, problem solving and the training and development of staff.
The ideal candidate will be of graduate calibre and will have experience working as a Shift Manager or the equivalent level within a manufacturing or production environment which is fast paced and target driven.
The ideal candidate will could also be Green Belt accredited, have experience with Total preventative maintenance, world class manufacturing, kaizen, 5S or six sigma.
