Maximizes team effort to efficiently manage the daily flow of products for the leading distributor of national name-brand medical and surgical supplies.

Responsible for coordinating and managing all warehouse activities on the second or third shift, including receiving, warehousing, and shipping. This position has overall warehouse operations responsibility during the absence of the Warehouse Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinates and/or checks in product returns and updates inventory balances on hand.
  2. Supervises the unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments.
  3. Ensures the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
  4. Participates in establishing work schedules and ensures that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
  5. Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area and assists in maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse.
  6. Screens and hires warehouse personnel and issues work assignments. Provides training for new warehouse teammates.
  7. Ensures total adherence to all Federal statutes regarding warehouse operation including DEA and OSHA regulations.
  8. Responsible for night picking/packing operations including JIT packing, labeling, cart packing, etc.
  9. Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with such activities as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
  10. Coordinates all preparation and distribution of documentation pertaining to teammate accidents which occur on assigned shift.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. May participate in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
  2. Performs additional duties as directed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. EDUCATION FORMAL TRAINING:

General knowledge of a variety of basic topics, such as math, reading, basic accounting, typing, etc. Equal to a high school diploma.

B. WORK EXPERIENCE:

Over one year and up to and including three years.

C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
