Shipper/Receiver

 

Position Description:

The purpose of the Shipper Receiver is to verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment, assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material. Arranging for the transportation of products. This position reports to Materials Manager. 

 

Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·         Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.

·         Gather and package materials for sales orders and outside process shipments.

·         Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, and power tools.

·         Participating in the effective deployment of a “Lean Enterprise” culture throughout the Company and supporting/participating in any related corporate “Lean” initiatives.

·         Complies with and participates in corporate Health Safety programs, Quality Systems, and Lean Initiatives

 

Qualifications:

Education:                                                                                                       

·         Minimum High School diploma

Experience:

·         3-5 years experience in shipping and transportation

·         Fedex and UPS software programs

·         Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications, including an ability to communicate with external customers and suppliers

·         Interpersonal Skills: Effectively communicating, building rapport and relating well to all variety of personalities

·         Teamwork: Working effectively and productively with others
