It is only non-state owned licensee eligible to provide bunkering services in China. Brightoil Group currently has interest in sales, storage of oil and petrochemical, terminal loading/unloading, marine bunkering, land marine transportation, petroleum exploration, gas station bunkering services, shipping, chartering etc. With its fully integrated up and down stream businesses and a complete supply chain network, it provides strong support to its customers and partners.
Due to our business expansion, we are seeking high calibre and dedicated professionals to join us in a dynamic and challenging environment as Shipping Lawyer.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that company’s interests are being lawfully protected
- Providing general specialised legal advice in Maritime, shipping sector corporate and/or related commercial law matters in areas of charterparties, bills of lading, collisions, groundings, joint venture agreements, ship building contracts and ship management etc.
- Provide expert support on legal issues to the Shipping management team.
- Ensuring that contract documents are drafted effectively and all commercial implications have been explained to the management team.
- Other ad-hoc legal issues might be occurred from time to time
Requirements
- Post-graduate qualification or above in maritime law/commercial law or relevant faulty.
- At least 5+ years of working experience in a similar role with experience gained from a top tier shipping law firm or similar.
- An English Law qualified commercial shipping lawyer with Broad knowledge of various legal issues in the following areas of law; ship building, commercial contracts, dispute resolution, risk analysis control.
- Excellent communication/negotiation skills and the ability to grasp complex areas of law quickly.
- Excellent organisational skills and able to prioritize issues and organize work effectively to meet deadlines.
- An open-minded person with good understanding of Asia Chinese culture and willing to relocate in Singapore.
