SHOP MANAGEMENT
The Shop Management team is responsible and accountable for all operational aspects of assigned shop and responsible for supervising all functions. Committed to ensuring outstanding service by creating and environment that is focused on providing an experience that exceeds customer expectations. Establish and maintain superior professional standards in the areas of sales, customer service, visual presentation, inventory management, operations, personnel management and development. Demonstrates and upholds the values and vision of the company.
- Achieves shop sales goals through the staff, always exceeding Budget.
- Sets the example as the sales leader in the shop.
- Enforces link selling techniques to increase Average Transaction Value (ATV) and units per transactions (UPT) through training and direction of the sales staff.
- Ensures an excellent level of customer service is maintained.
- Keeps customer service #1 priority at all times.
- Consistently holds staff members accountable to achieve sales goals; recognizes Outstanding Performers.
- Enthusiastically executes events, promotions, and contests with total support from staff members.
- Maintains awareness of shop’s performance relative to the competition; keeps abreast of retail trends.
- Conducts effective sales meetings as approved by DSM or Corporate.
- Looks for sales opportunities both inside and outside of shop.
- Responsible and accountable for total shop results.
- Assumes an active role in recruiting and interviewing candidates for all shop level positions.
- Responsible to maintain a full complement of both management and sales staff at all times.
- Ensures all shop employees receive coaching, training and development using Corporate training materials.
- Constantly maintains the highest degree of professional management in order to achieve results through staff.
- Ensures personnel practices comply with local, federal, and state guidelines.
- Maintains a positive and motivational style in all communications and actions to promote productivity and commitment.
- Communicates clearly, effectively, and in a timely, consistent manner to all staff, supervisors, and Corporate.
- Initiates timely disciplinary action in all cases concerning sub-standard performance.
- Maintains and enforces high standards of personal image and style in compliance with Corporate guidelines.
- Instills pride of ownership in all shop employees.
- Effectively implements Launch Packs with urgency, without sacrificing good customer service.
- Implements and ensures highest merchandising and standards as described by Corporate direction.
- Complies with all Corporate direction for window display, signage, and promotions within the allocated time frame.
- Ensures all backstock is rotated.
- Executes all markdowns and promotions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Accurately inputs information into the register to ensure adequate stock flow.
- Maintains neat, clean, clutter-free shop.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures as outlined in all shop manuals.
- Controls all shop expenses including payroll, telephone, repairs, supplies, utilities, damages, testers, etc.
- Maintains acceptable visit and audit scores; implements all direction as per DSM visitation within agreed upon timetables.
- Exercises intelligent and expedient application of customer exchanges, refunds, and returns in the shop.
- Utilizes effective systems in direction of daily duties.
- Maintains strong controls of bank deposits in compliance with company policy.
- Is accountable for shop shortage results within established guidelines.
- Is constantly aware of and communicates security problems affecting inventory loss, both internal and external; reports all indicators to DSM and Loss Prevention.
- Enforces all Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
- Accountable for receiving deliveries, cycle counts and zero on hands.
- Monitors and ensures accuracy of markdowns, transfers, and all other administrative paperwork and procedures affecting shrinkage.
- Maintains highly professional housekeeping standards in backroom, at till, and on selling floor.
- Reviews and communicates with DSM needs and plans for physical repairs of the shop.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Responsible for maintaining the ethical standards of The Body Shop including minimizing the environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace. Report potential risks, near misses and real accidents to relevant managers.
