Shop Supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

-         Supervise repair staff.

-         Perform repair of welders and associated equipment.

-         Ensure that all rental fleet items meet the company standards, both mechanically and cosmetically, prior to shipment to a customer.

-         Communicate by phone and in person with vendors, customers, staff, store managers and others, providing information on equipment, repair times, etc.

-         Maintain inventory of spare parts for welders.

-         Maintain maintenance log to document time and supplies to accurately bill customers.

-         Practice good shop keeping, i.e. keeping work areas clean and hazard-free.

-         Ensure that all company owned vehicles are properly serviced and maintenance DOT records are kept up to date.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

-         Minimum two years experience repairing industrial equipment.

-         Ability to supervise and work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.

-         Excellent knowledge of mechanics and electricity.

-         Ability to read and comprehend vendor repair manual instructions.

-         Ability to use a Windows based PC to access vendor repair manuals on CD.

-         Ability to perform very heavy work -- routinely lift 25-75 lbs., occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.

-         Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

-         Must be able to work occasional overtime, if necessary.

-         Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
