Silverlight Developer – C#, Web Services, Windows Infrastructure recruitment

Position Description:

The team designs and engineers Morgan Stanley’s Windows desktop, server, and virtualization infrastructure globally, including systems management systems covering over 100,000 desktops and 6,000 servers.

The candidate will be initially asked to work on a Silverlight front end application the interfaces with Web Services, Active Directory and Microsoft SQL Server Databases in the back end.

Skills Required:

Technical:
- Development experience in C#, including Web Service development and Silverlight.
- Good understanding of developing user-friendly and intuitive front ends.
- Good understanding of Windows operating system and infrastructure fundamentals
- Experience working in an engineering or development capacity with one or more of the following Windows enterprise technologies:
- Windows Server 2008, Active Directory (AD)
- Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise 2008, administration, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Systems management development experience in one or more of the following languages: C#, Powershell, VB, C++
- Experience with source code control systems E.g. Perforce, and software issue tracking systems E.g. Jira
- Strong technical ability in solving low-level Windows problems, including software and OS debugging                                                                                                                                                       - Ability to write clear technical reference documentation and runbook documentation
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft .NET Framework

 

Professional

- Experience reading systems software specifications and creating preliminary designs from them
- Experience helping customers develop valid systems software specifications

Skills Desired:

- Windows application/infrastructure code testing experience, including test plan creation and automated testing
- Understanding of/experience with SDLC methodology and software design patterns
- Understanding of product engineering lifecycle and CMMI
- Any additional experience with other back end databases would be useful, e.g. Sybase, DB2 etc
