Responsible for the development, optimisation, management and support of technical solutions. The candidate should have a strong technical background and a proven track-record in delivering complex system and reporting projects within an Asset Management environment.
 The candidate should be able to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the Microsoft development platform, Database Structures and Dependencies, Report and Interface Development.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Owning, designing and delivering the reporting architecture/strategy for Client, Management, Operational Regulatory Reporting

• Gathering business reporting requirements, documenting design and developing reporting solutions

• Developing, enhancing and testing interfaces between the front and back office systems as well as to external third parties

• Analysis of data issues

• Support of User Acceptance Testing

• Database administration

• Defining, documenting and agreeing functional specifications to support implementation of business and technical solutions

• Creating and evaluating proposals for solutions

Candidate competencies:

• Strong technical experience, with a proven aptitude for understanding and harnessing new tools and concepts

• Strong execution skills: managing initiatives from inception to implementation using structured project methods, predicting and mitigating issues along the way

• Ability to work in a team and independently, with energy and commitment, in a dynamic and delivery focused environment

• Willingness to be “hands on” where necessary in order to meet goals

• Awareness of the complexity of projects, with their multiple stakeholders, requirements and interdependencies

Business knowledge and experience:

• Translation of verbal and written business requirements into application functional requirements

• Good business acumen

• Knowledge of the workings of an Investment Management house

• Demonstrate awareness of the complexities surrounding the provision of data

• Be able to provide tactical and strategic solutions

Technical knowledge and experience:

• Experience with front and back office systems and the interactions between them

• Microsoft Server Technologies (SSIS, Sharepoint)

• .NET,C#, XML/XLST

• Reporting technologies: Crystal Reports, Microsoft Reporting Services, Actuate eSpreadsheet

• DBA Experience (preferably Oracle and SQL Server)

Management knowledge and experience:

• Able to deal easily with fund managers and other senior investment professionals

• Able to present solution proposals clearly and concisely
