Position responsibilities include all aspects related to the repair and maintenance of SimLAN equipment in a nuclear power plant environment. Job Duties: • Repair and maintenance of SimLAN equipment. • SimLAN administrator, including backups. • Simulation software maintenance related to plant modifications, Simulator discrepancies and improvements, etc. • Monitor plant design changes, setpoint changes, equivalent changes, etc. and evaluate impact on simulator. • Design simulator hardware upgrades/replacements. • Prepare or review tests for all changes. • Maintenance of OpenSim and Instructor Station software and displays. • Simulator configuration management database maintenance. • Maintain all documents within configuration management scheme: hardware drawings, OpenSim drawings, wirelist, procedures, programmer guides, I/T Equipment Database, Simulator Availability calculations. • Update core model with current cycle data. • Update monthly simulator performance indicators. • Provide technical support for Operations Training, especially as it relates to the Simulator. • Update core model with current cycle data. Experience: • Six years of Power Plant Simulator experience. • Proficient use of computers for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and software. • Programming skills in Fortran, C./C++, Visual Basic, and SQL. • Operating systems experience in VAX/VMS, Unix and Windows NT.
