Singapore – Senior AML/CTF Compliance Manager recruitment
Strong prudential management has been a key to Macquarie's success over many years. The Risk Management Group is an independent, centralised unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across Macquarie. This includes market and liquidity risk, credit risk, compliance risk and operational risk. Risk Management Group personnel liaise closely with all operating areas to ensure risks are understood and properly managed.
Job duties include:
- Working with the Asia AML/CTF Team and local MLROs to implement regional and/or country specific AML/CTF initiatives;
- Working with the Sydney AML/CTF Team in Macquarie's head office to implement global AML/CTF Initiatives and to ensure consistent global approach for global AML/CTF activities;
- Administering and implementing established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Macquarie Group policies principles as well as local AML/CTF regulatory requirements;
- Providing sound advice on AML/CTF regulatory requirements to all business groups in the Asia region, in particular, businesses in Singapore;
- Providing guidance to the on-boarding teams and ensuring proper KYC information and documentation are maintained;
- Assisting with general compliance projects that arise from Compliance's oversight activities;
- Managing and maintaining productive relationships with regulators through involvement in material regulatory contact;
- Conducting AML/CTF training for all business groups and relevant support functions such as the on-boarding teams;
- Providing guidance to Market Operations in relation to on-boarding matters and on-going due diligence processes for client accounts;
- Assisting the local MLROs with any suspicious transaction/activity investigations; and
- Keeping abreast with changes to regulatory requirements for AML/CTF and communicating the changes internally to management with a view to ensuring established policies, procedures and processes are in compliance with new requirements.
Suitable candidates will have experience gained within investment banking, legal or regulatory environment, a sound understanding of financial markets and the ability to maintain and enhance productive relationships with staff and regulators. In addition, you will also have:
- Minimum 5 years of AML/CTF experience (advisory, on-boarding and transaction monitoring experiences) in Asia (in particular Singapore);
- Willingness to take on a diverse product range and to leverage personal experience and skills into new areas;
- Outstanding communication skills;
- Working knowledge of regional capital markets and banking laws and products;
- Commercial astuteness;
- Stalwart personality, highly self motivated with the ability to make things happen;
- Ability to work independently, determine priorities and meet deadlines.
