Site Civil Engineer
ITSI Gilbane is an international Engineering, Construction Consulting firm based in Walnut Creek, California, (www.itsi.com) focusing on providing design-build infrastructure and environmental solutions for our clients. ITSI's clients include all branches of the Department of Defense in addition to municipal and commercial clients.
We are seeking a Site Civil Engineer to support our federal construction projects in Afghanistan. This is an international assignment, reporting to the Afghanistan Country QC Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Provides design review, and technical supervision and inspection during construction for civil, structural trades on a sign projects
- Prepare and manage material submittals for materials, equipment and associated site drawings/shop drawings to gain client approval
- Inspects all civil, structural materials upon arrival at the site, and before installation into work product(s)
- Supports management team in preparation of estimates, proposals, and changes as directed
- Supervises earth work site surveying, materials placement; inspect concrete, associated formwork/reinforcing, certifications, mix designs, to assure compliance with specifications
- Maintains updated as-built drawings and OM manual for mechanical construction activity
- Supports Project Management on proposal preparation and preparation of change requests as required/directed
Skills Required:
- 7+ years experience working in civil/structural construction in vertical projects
- Experience on AFCEE and/or USACE projects required. Afghanistan and/or Iraq experience preferred. 5+ years experience desirable
- Strong communication skills required
- Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel skills required. Experience supporting Primavera schedules updates preferred
Education Required:
- Civil engineering degree required. Five years professional civil engineering experience required. Structural inspection experience a plus
- Current USACE QCM certificate required
- License or PE Accreditation with active registration in the home of record HOR does not offer professional registration
