Snr Petroleum Economist

Major international EP firm are urgently seeking a principal/senior petroleum economist to join their team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The firm has a focus on Africa, Australasia North America, and have extensive growth plans. This therefore is a team with strong visibility and the opportunities for someone joining to develop and progress their career.

In this position you will be compiling and producing risk based business and economic valuations both for existing operations and also for new business ventures, with a focus on Africa, Australasia and North America. You will produce investment analysis and economic feasibility studies to facilitate the investment decision-making process. As a result this position is key to the firm's continued growth, and has a major impact on potential project returns.

You will need to have a strong understanding of PSCs (Production Sharing Contracts), investment analysis experience and a minimum of a degree level qualification in engineering, economics or finance. Previous experience in a Petroleum Economist role is highly advantageous, although we are keen to speak to people who have both a strong technical understanding of oil gas assets and investment analysis experience who want to move into this position.
