THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overall Objective:
The Social Marketing Specialist supports the Social Marketing team in the development and execution of social-based campaigns. They are responsible for researching technologies and solutions, contributing to program recommendations, supporting the facilitation of campaigns on Social Media Networks, blogosphere and new digital media platforms, as well as monitoring campaign performance.
Day to Day Duties:
- The Social Marketing Specialist organizes, executes and reports on social marketing plans on behalf of assigned Client(s). They work with senior staff (Social team, traditional Account Management teams, Digital, Media and Creative teams) on the implementation of social marketing initiatives to serve the Client’s business as needed. This includes:
- Development of tactics to support the strategy
- Implementation of content and plans
- Social media planning, buying and optimization
- Recommendations grounded in research
- Platform and campaign monitoring
Account Management
- Support and execute assigned Client(s) daily social projects and strategies.
- Meet deadlines and prepare client-ready deliverables.
- Compile campaign performance data to develop weekly/monthly campaign reports.
- Maintain daily contact with internal Account Management as well as other internal departments.
- Keep Account Management informed of Client relations.
- Participate in needed client meetings/briefing/ideations sessions.
- Monitor competitor activity as needed.
Social Campaign Development
- Understand campaign strategies and develop tactical recommendations for clients’ social media campaigns.
- Support the preparation and delivery of social presentations to the Client.
- Work with Media Planning and the Account Team in development of annual media plans and campaigns.
- Utilize social tools and reports to execute campaigns.
- Keep up to date on the latest social marketing tools and solutions, and recommend when appropriate.
Social Campaign Execution
- Implement and optimize social media campaigns, inclusive of paid media and organic conversations within the social space.
- Identify threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding our brand, report to appropriate parties.
- Execute the Social Media Content Calendar and provide relevant input for new content creation based on historical campaign performance.
- Engage the blogger community as needed for brand promotions.
- Manage, Monitor and Engage in Social Media/Internet Communities with minute by minute participation in conversations that surround content and brand, answer comments, and mediate.
- Gather and compile research data in a comprehensible format.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business or other related field.
- 1+ years experience in Social Media Marketing
- Be passionately in tune with latest social media developments, online behaviors, and trends.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, Facebook, MySpace, twitter, Flickr, and other current social media outlets.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, networking, time management and interpersonal skills
- Urgency and a strong attention to detail, specifically with regards to written communications
- Strong command of the English language
