Social Media Programs Manager

Position: Newly created consultant position responsible for building and executing ISA's external social media programs.

Location; Research Triangle Park North Carolina or ability to work effectively from remote location.

POSITION OVERVIEW

ISA is seeking an experienced automation and industrial controls professional for the position of Social Media Programs Manager, to lead the execution of corporate-level social media programs across all of the company's external online communities. As the focal point for ISA's official social media properties, this individual will play a highly visible role with all major constituencies - both internally and externally - in building and nurturing the company's brand.

The Manager of Social Media Programs will be responsible for building, growing and nurturing ISA's social media communities on all the major platforms, (e.g., Word Press, Twitter, Facebook, Linked In, Live Stream, You Tube, and Flickery) and acting as the lead community manager for all these off-domain networks. This individual must have domain expertise in automation in industrial applications, and will actively identify new platforms and tools and apply them to the ISA social strategy to increase brand awareness, develop networks of influence rs, and build communities of advocates.

In addition, this individual will also play a large role as an internal advocate for transforming ISA into a social brand and helping build social media skills among ISA staff.

Responsibilities
• Communicate with, and engage, automation professionals via social media channels.
• Visibly drive ISA's official presence across major social media platforms, including Twitter, Face book, Linked In, etc.
• Develop and nurture a holistic advocacy program across multiple social venues designed to activate ISA's constituencies on behalf of the brand.
• Develop and implement influence relations programs to raise ISA's visibility and credibility in key markets.
• Further ISA's network of blog sources.
• Partner and counsel extensively with Marketing to develop innovative, cross-functional social media programs globally.
• Assist in training and raising the social media skills of the staff and society.
• Measure, report, and adjust social media campaigns.
• Lead the strategic development and overall execution of integrated Social Media programs throughout the organization.
• Create content for social media by working with areas within ISA.
• Act as an in-house expert on social media and effectively counsel marketing and product teams on how to implement and leverage social media as well as train staff in ISA social media policies and procedures.
• Periodically act as an in-house resource in guiding technical content disseminated through other offerings such as publications, conferences or training.
• The social media manager has a high level of accountability within the organization. Because this position is ultimately responsible for upholding the ISA brand on a variety of external online platforms, the social media manager needs to carefully weigh risks vs. rewards and ensure that all internal constituents are communicating with the integrity of the ISA in mind at all times.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field
• Minimum 10 years experience in automation, instrumentation, and control systems applications, technologies, and business practices.
• Knowledge/understanding of brand marketing principles and strategies.
• Must be engaged, both personally and professionally in social media.
• Experience in media training/guidance
• Relevant professional experience developing and working extensively within social media communities
• Deep understanding of social media and social networks, and how to apply them for measurable impact in a business context
• Proven success in managing and running social media and community management programs for organizations
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Well-versed the most current digital measurement methodologies and analytics tools
• A natural ability to understand the nuances in human behavior and culture and the implications of that in an online environment
• Familiarity with non-profit, professional organizations a plus
